field of Biotechnology
Introduction :
Agriculture is the main source of economy or
Bangladesh.We all know Bangladesh is an agricultural country.A large part
of the people Bangladesh depends on agriculture for their livelihood if
we calculated in percentage,it is about 80%. Along with the contributing
to the country’s GDP, the sector’s role in macroeconomics such as
employment generation, puberty alleviation, human resource development and
food security.That’s why in this sector there are huge opportunity to
transforming agriculture from traditional labour-based agriculture to
technology -based agriculture by using agricultural biotechnology.
Moreover from my childhood I have lots of interest of learning about
the process and methods of agriculture like preparation of
soil,sowing,adding manure and fertilizers, irrigation,harvesting and
storage. Thats the reasons I choose these individual topic
agricultural biotechnology.
Current research and usage:
Coming into the 21st century we can see a
decrease in the amount of cultivated land in contrast to
the ever-increasing population. Therefore,biotechnology is constantly new
to deal with this huge amount of human food crisis in the world.therefore
agricultural biotechnology is constantly and unveiling new research
and discoveries and trends to deal with the current huge food crisis in
the world.
1.Intect resistance:Bacillus thuringienis
used as an insecticide spray in organic farming.Genes for several Bt
toxins have been introduced into many crops by GM.The bacterium bacillus
thuringinesis (Bt) Produces a Group of proteins known as the BT
toxin,which are toxic for certain insects but do not harm

beneficial insects on other animals.For example
over 90% of the cotton planted in USA,India, China, Australia and South
Africa are GM verities containing Bt toxin genes.Over the 20 years,it is is
estimated that the application 450,000 tons of of insecticide has been
avioided to use of Bt toxin genes in crops.
2.Gene agriculture: “Genetic Goldmine
allowing plants to live in extreme environment in the Atacama desert.

The team of New York university conducted
an analysis using phylogenomics to identify the genes whose protein
sequences were adopted in the Atacama species. The study found a
genetic goldmin and identified to 265 genes where protein sequence changes
were selected by evolutionary forces across multiple Alacama species.
Interest in this application :
There are so many national and international
companies, NGO Showing their interest in
agricultural biotechnology.International companies like syngenta,
AG,BASF,Corteva Agriscience,Biogen,Vertex pharmaceuticals,Samsung
Biologies,celltrion,CSL,Novo Nordiskect and in Bangladeshi companies
like DEBTCH,Square Agric-tech,Brac Biotechnology centeretc are Working for
the development of nutrient value, the resistance of diseases etc.

Discovers of this applications:
*Early examples of agricultural
biotechnology include breeding animals and crops,and using microorganisms
to make cheese,yoghurt, bread and wine.
*In agricultural biotechnology the
scientists are discovers in GMO crops were producing Bt crops, herbicide
resistance crops, salinity tolerant crops, drought- tolerant crops,
cotton,rice,wheat corn,soybean etc.
*Using new invention technology like GPS
technology,free size precision agriculture and robotic systems.
Advantage’s:
1.Firstly, agricultural biotechnology increasing
crop and food quality that’s mean it’s include and improved nutritional
quality.
2.Farmers cultivatemeaning
many crops in their field in one time and this allows farmers to spend
less of their time managing thier crops
3.It’s improve food quality
and help to remove hunger in our huge population of this world.
Limitaciones:
With so many advantages there are also some
limitations in agricultural biotechnology like cloning may results is
misuse of this techniques to produce genetic monsters.sometimes it also make
more harmful insects, virus,bacteria and maybe produced. That's why it's a
high chance as a result it may lose of biodiversity.
Future prospects:
In 21st century agricultural biotechnology
offers producing higher crop yields,plants that are naturally protect from
harmful disease and insects, and possible more nutritious and
better tasting food also using artificial intelligence farmers,robots, and
drones et.
Conclusion:
At present time, we are totally depends on
agricultural biotechnology for our everyday life it's provid
es farmers with tools that can make production
cheaper and more manageable. It’s also helps to remove hunger,property,and
also Increase GD. Moreover, scientists are now try to preparing
and developing this process but in this process it needs to be more research
and developments.
